Hi Everyone,
The first treatment went very well. I had no nausea or vomiting, have lost all my hair and had a bit of a sore throat and mouth. I've been told I look good, with or without a wig or headgear to looking like a Japanese wrestler. Ha! Ha It all depends on the angle. I went to the cabin for a week and just got back from Eastend visiting the newest member of the Bauche clan- Edward Thadeus Mayoh-Bauche,the new family are all doing well. My neutrophils(white blood cells) were low on friday so I will need to get blood work tomorrow am to see if they are up so I get chemo tomorrow at 8:15. I was told last friday I will be having 8 chemo treatments-4 of FEC and 4 of Taxatere. I feel so blessed, loved and supported. Thanks
Hi Deb,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you handled round one quite well and that you've been able to get out and enjoy friends and family. Make sure you do what you can when you're feeling good so you don't feel too socially deprived when you feel kind of crappy.
I'm so sorry about your hair. Of course, you're beautiful without your hair, too. I felt quite traumatized to lose mine for multiple reasons. Not just vanity. But, as someone said to me, "when this is over your hair will start coming back and you'll look as hip and stylish as Victoria Beckham." I waited for that. I can't quite say I have managed to look that hip and stylish but it was a great image to hold on to while I waited for real hair again.
I had the same chemo treatment protocol as you. If you ever want to talk with someone who has been through the same thing, please don't hesitate to phone or email me.
Die, cancer cells! DIE!!
I just fed your fish. Man, they were hungry!
ReplyDeleteSending you healthy, happy, healing vibes!
ReplyDeleteDeb, I am happy to hear you are feeling as well as can be expected and that you were able to have some time with family at the lake. Know that those of us who know your beauty don't need to see the hair. Your beauty within exudes on the outside. Praying for continued strength and sending hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb,
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking of you all. Your post sounds like you're taking things in stride and that everything is going well. Way to go!
